2012 YCAGA INTERCLUB
This Sunday, May 20th the YCAGA Interclub will be held at Pleasant Valley Golf Course, located just outside of Stewartstown, PA. This event is open to all YCAGA Member Clubs as well as individuals who are eligible for a YCAGA Tournament. The main event is for the bragging rights for the Team Championship. There is also an individual event within the tournmant. Please note, War of the Roses Points are awarded based on the individual standings within this event. This years event will host teams from 13 of the 19 member clubs.
The team event format is 6 players from each team play individual stroke play for 18 holes. The scoring for the team will consist of the best 5 overall scores from the 6 players plus a Better Ball Score of all 6 players. This format keeps everyone in the team event, even though they may be struggling overall.
Tee Times will be forwarded via email to each player,club and will be available on line by midday 5/15/2012.

YCAGA'S ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP PROGRAM FOR GOLF CLUBS
In 2010 the board of the YCAGA voted to expand the membership of the association. This expansion was formulated via the creation of an Associate Member Status. This expansion was also necessary to allow the YCAGA not only to expand but to allow the association to expand its abilities to promote "Amateur Golf" beyond the borders of York County as well as to offer the services granted to the YCAGA from the USGA.
These services include but are not limited to the following: 1) Handicap Services (Mandatory use of the handicap program provided by the YCAGA - Ghin) 2) Rating and Sloping Services 3) Tournament Presentation Assistance/Training via the Tournament Players Program (TPP) 4) Begin the ground work for Handicap & Rating & Sloping Seminars 5) Provide Handicap Certification to its member clubs.
This membership has three classifications as follows:
1)Golf Course/Facility- Any golf course or golf facility (private, semi-private, public) outside York Countythat provides for a group of individual dues-paying or non dues paying members who manage their own affairs.
2)Non Facility - Any regularly organized golf club in Pennsylvaniathat is composed of individual dues-paying members who manage their own affairs.Such a club does not own, operate, or regularly play at one course, but the members of the club regularly play golf together in conformance with the requirements of the USGA Handicapping System.
3)Practice Facility - Any practice facility without a golf course of minimum regulation length located in York County that promotes the game of golf through instruction, training, or practice.
Application for membership is made via completion of a membership application form and possible additional information as determined upon review of the application by the Executive Committee.. Applications are available by contacting the Executive Director (executivedirector@ycaga.org) with a request for an application.
Individual members of the clubs may play in a YCAGA event provided they individually meet the eligibility requirements for each tournament. Being a member of an Associate Member Club does not qualify the individual for eligibility in a YCAGA event. (see eligibility requirements for each tournament) Currently the York Open is the only sponsored YCAGA event that is open to all Amateurs and Pros with no limitation on their geographical location.
INTERESTED IN JOINING THE YCAGA PLAYERS CLUB? MEMBERSHIP INCLUDES A HAT PIN BALL MARKER AND A GHIN HANDICAP. MEMBERSHIP IS OPEN TO ALL AREA GOLFERS IN SOUTH CENTRAL PA. MEMBERSHIP IN THE CLUB DOES NOT WAIVE ANY OF THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AS SET FOR A YCAGA TOURNAMENT.MEMBERSHIP DUES ARE $25.00 PER CALENDAR YEAR.
